Loreen Niewenhuis has authored works of non-fiction and fiction.
She has had two adventure memoirs published by Crickhollow Books of Milwaukee: A 1000-MILE WALK ON THE BEACH

Her novella, ATLANTA, was published by MSR Publishing.
Many of her short stories have appeared in literary journals.
In 2009, her short story collection, Scar Tissue, was a finalist for the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction.
